Scope and Content
This appears to be a railroad-produced souvenir photo album of the scenery and sights along the California Western Railroad & Navigation, an independent short line that ran (and still runs) betweeen Willits and Ft. Bragg. The road's trademark name was "The Califonia Scenic Line".
This album contains fifty-six 8 x 10" sepia toned photographs. These are not traditional photographs but some sort of photo process, probably rotogravure, which produces a dense image that is not as clean as offset. Each image is printed on a heavy card stock that is bound into the album at the left edge.
Since this was a souvenir album sold to the public, there are a variety of scenes, including trains, tent accommodations at the Noyo River Tavern, fly fishing, logging, and downtown Ft. Bragg.
