Beginning in 1908 the Southern Pacific Railroad and the University of California joined together to create an Agricultural and Horticultural Train which traveled the SP lines to educate farmers on the latest developments in farming. This view may have been photographed in Louisiana but the consist and the community participation was no doubt similar to California excursions.
